Your momma raised you right

She did right

She did right

It’s not the best picture. Trying to pay tribute to my mom.

She was paid a compliment the other day by a total stranger 150 miles away. I was in a shopping center and noticed a woman struggling with a painting or some kind of art work. She was headed to a home decor store and there was no way she was going to make it in the store without some trouble.

So I ran, literally, and opened the door for her. She beamed as her job just got a lot easier. She yells back as the door is closing, “Your momma raised you right!” I told her I would call my mom and tell her about the compliment.

My mom has been a source of inspiration for many years. My dad passed away in 1977 and even though we had the support of family in town, the burden fell squarely on her shoulders to provide for and raise me and my sister.

It wasn’t easy for her. Or for us. But we’ve turned out okay.

Whether you realize it or not, you bring pieces of the way you were raised into the way you run your business, deal with clients or call on your customers. Even the way you interact with your co-workers can probably be traced back to lessons learned as a kid.

Mom, you did good. Others are saying it, not just me.

Nice David. The great part of that is now you are raising your children right, and so on and so on.

Donna, I would like to think I am. Since they make mistakes in judgement, that affirms they are being raised by me. 😉

Life’s ripple effect. Wonderful to see. Essential for good works to flourish.

      jeff,

Have you ever taken the time to watch a small pond when you’ve made a ripple? It is fun to watch, especially if there is something floating along that get’s moved by the ripple. Almost hypnotic.
