Provide solutions, not problems

You don’t need the boss’ permission to poke the box.

Do you communicate the struggles you have in your job? Not talking about complaining. There is a difference.

Instead of sharing your concerns with management, how about following them up with a conversation that includes solutions?

This type of approach shows forward thinking. Sure, it would be nice to solve all the problems yourself. But that’s not practical. Offering a solution shows your critical thinking skills and might be a time saver for the guy above you who has no time.

You don’t have to burn the candle at both ends to figure everything out.

As the motto at my wife’s school suggests, “No excuses, only adjustments.” Provide solutions, not just present the problems.

I was going through some old pictures and this one made me smile. The thoughtfulness, encouragement, inspiration . . . It was a way of providing solutions. 🙂
