Pick a number

Not feeling like giving the full 100.

Not feeling like giving the full 100.

I want you to try an experiment. Get 20 pieces of paper and a hat. Write down percentages on the pieces of paper starting with 5% and finishing with 100% in increments of 5. Place the pieces of paper in the hat, mix them up and draw one.

That is your amount of focus and dedication to the work you have to do today. What did you draw?

I don’t really believe we start our day by proclaiming we’re only going to give 70% (my result).

But that’s what we end up doing if we’re not focused, determined and committed to our goals. It may take a week, a month, or 50 years.

If you can do the math, it takes twice as long to reach your goals if you’re only giving 50%.

    Love this. Great post.

PS. I cheated. All 20 pieces had 110%.

    Is that bad?

Yes. You have to stay after school so you can learn the importance of following directions.

Wait. Breaking the mold and charting your own course to excellence is probably a good thing.

      Carry on. 🙂
