You’re not good enough. You’re not living up to your potential. You’ll never amount to anything. . . said no motivational speaker ever.
Do you realize the motivational power you possess? No, really. Think about it.
Take a look at your own life. Where have you been? Where are you now? Where are you headed?
The events of your life are part of a journey. Be a sponge and soak them all in.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
Your excellent post truly drives home the message of our own awesome power, hopefully used for good and not evil. Mere words motivate others, and ourselves, to do great things. We don’t have to lift a finger, just offer encouragement, and marked change occur. It’s staggering actually.
There is an anti-bullying tv ad running down here. A high school kid gets his book bag dumped in the hallway. Stereotypes abound in the 30-second spot: big jock type comes to the aid of small-framed nerdy guy. The jock asks if he’s okay as he stoops down to help the other kid. Good words accompanied by compassionate work.
Encouragement is excellent fertilizer for our motivation.
Especially when you want to get away from the smell. 🙂
