Boy did he make an impression.
Inspiration for June at It’s All About The Customer continues with today’s post dedicated to Johannes Guttenberg. That’s a name that will not pass the spell checker.
But thanks to Guttenberg, this blog and the 150+ million other blogs out there should be grateful for his invention. Backed by the Holy Roman Empire, this invention sparked a revolution of knowledge spreading across Europe and eventually the world.
Prior to this innovation, 40 pages a day would be the best a copy writer could do. The printing press multiplies that by a factor of 90, making it possible to produce 3,600 pages per workday.
This one invention led to the discovery of many things we enjoy today because this event led to a scientific revolution thanks, in part, to many scientific journals written to share ideas and test new theories.
As a matter of fact, the type you are reading today is a direct result of Guttenberg’s efforts nearly 700 years ago.
Got any innovative ideas hiding up your sleeve? Is there an approach you take with your customers that inspires others you work with to do something that’s never been done before? Got an idea that might need to be shared with others in the form of a best-selling book?
