Cancer

It’s 4+ years since the initial diagnosis.

Still no sign of cancer. It doesn’t mean it’s not lurking in the shadows. But I’ll take it for now.

Of all the diseases in the world, there is probably no other disease that has affected so many people. Here in the United States, we had the sixth highest number of new cancer diagnoses, with 318 cases per 100,000 people. (2012 statistics according to World Cancer Research Fund International)

May God help us find a cure to this and all diseases.

Knowledge without application

Is your leadership on edge?

Is your leadership on edge?

. . . is worth what?

Nothing?

You’ve spent time, energy and money to learn a skill or trade with the expectation that you’ll share your knowledge either by putting it into practice or teach others.

Is that diploma/certificate just sitting on a bookshelf somewhere collecting dust?

Think about the bookshelf of your mind. Is your knowledge collecting dust there too?

Commodity or brand

imageWhat do you sell?

Have you had your morning cup of coffee yet? What was the brand name?

Your answer could determine whether or not you buy the commodity or the brand. There’s nothing wrong with either response.

The same can be said for where you shop, where you dine, where you vacation.

In your line of work, adding to the commodity you sell enhances the brand you represent. People may not be buying your commodity just for its function. They may be buying your brand because of an emotional connection you bring to the game.

“Products are made in the factory, but brands are created in the mind.” – Walter Landor

How do you inspire?

Getting inspiration from those who who need our help.

Getting inspiration from those who need our help.

It’s not always about keeping your employees from NOT doing things, but rather encouraging them to DO things.

You lead them by doing things for their benefit . . . show them how it’s done.

Yes, it’s a lot of pressure on you. But in the end, it’s good for everybody.

By exerting your influence on those in your group, you can effectively lead them to accomplish their goals whether it’s higher sales or helping someone cross home plate.

Bold

Bold - can't hide it.

Bold – can’t hide it.

Are you so bold that you share your vision with everyone? Why or why not? Afraid?

This restaurant claims on the outside of their building that quality service is in their recipe. That’s a bold claim for a fast food chain that isn’t known for service.

What do you want to be known for?

If it’s something new, Be bold!
