Never too late to focus on giving

Someone’s watching out for you.

“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'” Acts 20:35 (NIV)

We’ve got over 7 weeks before we celebrate Thanksgiving here in the US. Then, it’s the Christmas season where we focus on what we want. Merchandising supports it, marketing supports it, commercials support it.

Here’s an idea. . . . instead of focusing on what you want this year, let’s focus on the needs of others.

Like now. No. Don’t wait until your next paycheck. There’s probably something you can do right now that will lift the spirits of someone who is in need.

Email. Phone call. Text. Facebook message. Drive over to their house and give them a hug.

Knowledge and wisdom

There was a purpose to this garden.

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NIV)

There will be a time when there will be no more time. The planning, the working, the knowledge will be over. Make sure your day has a purpose.

Being diligent

This flower in this garden on this day. The result of diligence.

“The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.” Proverbs 13:4 (ESV)

Let the work you do today and everyday matter.

Puzzled over something?

All the pieces fit together

Do you feel like something isn’t complete?

All the pieces are there. You just have to have an idea of what the picture looks like in order to put them together.

So having a goal in mind, knowing where you’re going and knowing what your destination looks like can help keep you focused on the prize.
