Making a deposit at the bank, I noticed one of the pennies didn’t look like the others. It was a wheat penny. They don’t make them like that anymore. It was in relatively good shape. They stopped making them in 1958. And I figured this one to be from around that time.
I turned it over and saw the date.
Wow! That coin was minted 95 years ago and still has 100% functionality today as it did the day it was made. Sure, it doesn’t buy as much as it used to. But it’s traded the same as a penny minted last week.
Is there anything else that is still functioning at 100% after nearly a century? This is one that has me scratching my noggin’.
