They don’t make ’em like they used to

They don't make 'em like they used to

They don't make 'em like they used to

Making a deposit at the bank, I noticed one of the pennies didn’t look like the others. It was a wheat penny. They don’t make them like that anymore. It was in relatively good shape. They stopped making them in 1958. And I figured this one to be from around that time.

I turned it over and saw the date.

1916.

Wow! That coin was minted 95 years ago and still has 100% functionality today as it did the day it was made. Sure, it doesn’t buy as much as it used to. But it’s traded the same as a penny minted last week.

Is there anything else that is still functioning at 100% after nearly a century? This is one that has me scratching my noggin’.

Are you  as useful to your company today as you were on your first day?

    Jeff,

Is that one of those “good” questions, “great” questions, or “excellent” questions?

    🙂
