Robert Sherman, one half of the Sherman Brothers duo most famous for writing songs from Mary Poppins, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and the theme song for “it’s a small world (after all), recalled the following about Walt Disney:
“On Fridays, after work, [Walt Disney would] often invite us into his office and we’d talk about things that were going on at the Studio. After a while, he’d wander to the north window, look out into the distance and just say, ‘Play it.’ And Dick would wander over to the piano and play ‘Feed the Birds’ for him. One time just as Dick was almost finished, under his breath, I heard Walt say, ‘Yep. That’s what it’s all about.'” (quote from Wikipedia)
I believe music has a profound affect on our lives. We may not always be able to express ourselves in words. But put those words to music and something special happens. “Feed the Birds” was supposedly Walt’s favorite song. It is the first major song in a Disney film that spoke on the merits of charity. “Tuppence (two pence) a bag” was all that was asked of passers-by to help feed birds.
Charity begins with us. We give not out of our abundance, but out of our heart. Yep. That’s what it’s all about.
Have a great week!

Faith, Hope, and Charity. And the greatest of these is charity.
🙂
Good story.
That’s an awesome picture!
Where is that located?
This was taken inside the Casting building on a Disney Institute course. Great mural depicting it all. Even though Walt died before opening day in each of the WDW theme parks, he saw them all.
Very true. Fun!
