Nothing wrong with wishing to be somewhere else

Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919)

If you are wanting to improve your situation, visualizing where you want to be is an important step.

An internal satisfaction which does not demand changes in external circumstances. . . that’s contentment. And that’s a good place to be.

But growth should not be contained.

Want your business to improve? Improve yourself.
Want people to invest in your business? Invest in yourself.
Have a vision of where you want your business to be? Envision yourself leading your business forward.

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States (1901-1909)

PS. It was necessary to revise this post. It was written late at night and was not flowing as well as I’d like.

Set an example

William McKinley (1843-1901)

Do you long to be a leader in your field of work? Are you an innovator?

Maybe not. You don’t have to be # 1 in order to be an inspiration.

Do good. Do what’s right. Make mistakes. Fail often.

Get back up and keep going.

“That’s all a man can hope for during his lifetime – to set an example – and when he is dead, to be an inspiration for history.”
William McKinley, 25th President of the United States (1897-1901)

Honest work

Stephen Grover Cleveland (1837-1908)

Honesty is often addressed in schools, especially when applied to the work students do with respect to plagiarized writings. The ease of collecting data via the internet has made it necessary to establish laws for their proper use.

Academic dishonesty is nothing new. Courses on business ethics need to be taught for a reason. Dishonesty, unethical behavior and backroom deals are a part of society. Doesn’t mean you have to partake.

It’s only your reputation at stake. And the reputation of your brand. Plus the reputation of your business. And don’t forget the reputation of your industry.

Yeah, it’s that big. Just do honest work.

“A truly American sentiment recognizes the dignity of labor and the fact that honor lies in honest toil.”
Grover Cleveland, 24th President of the United States (1893-1897)

Chip off the old block

Happy Birthday to my number one son. My only son. My mini-me.

You bring a level of joy that is not easily described. Hopefully you will learn it for yourself one day.

Use your candle to light another

Benjamin Harrison (1833-1901)

How are you using your talents? We all have at least one. And it is up to us to use it for good.

There are individuals who seem to let their talents transcend the physical restraints of this world, inspiring others to greatness.

Be someone’s inspiration today.

“Great lives never go out; they go on.”
Benjamin Harrison, 23rd President of the United States (1889-1893)
