One thing you don’t want to hear: “This is my first day on the job! Please excuse my incompetence.”
Friday, we had the privilege of going through the process of becoming a Cast Member at Norway in Epcot. This was for training purposes only. (Hey, I can dream, can’t I?)
We were taken through a Traditions class where we learned about the history, the now and the future of the Walt Disney company.
We were quizzed about the Disney Service Basics:
- I project a positive image and energy.
- I am courteous and respectful to all Guests.
- Stay in character – play the part.
- Go above and beyond.
Okay. Now you know the secrets of delivering great service. So, go on. Do it. DO it. DO IT!
Just because you know what to do, it doesn’t always work out. Why not?
For starters, do you have the right people in place who are capable of completing their job using the guidelines above? Are you, as a leader, helping to bring these basic, common sense practices to life?

This is fun to watch. 🙂
Have fun today!
Make the world a better place.
(wait, you already are)
It has been an amazing ride.
Seeing old friends, making new ones, learning new strategies,
dusting off the old ones that need tweaking.
“I know we’ll meet again, someday.”
It is a dream to someday, for real, earn my ears. Someday will come.
I have been enjoying your posts and fb. Can one be “homesick” for a place that is not technically their home? Told my husband December (our next trip down) can’t come soon enough.
Patty, all I can offer you is this piece of advice – just be yourself.
If you do that, I am confident there is a place for you.
Where will you be staying?
Thanks David!
In Dec. our reservation is not yet set. Maybe Animal Kingdom, but it is up in the air.
We will be there in September. ANimal Kingdom Lodge is one of our favorites. Who am I kidding? We love them all!
