Give me a 10

If you want a 10, deliver an 11.

If you want a 10, deliver an 11.

Our microwave died. It was built 11 years ago. So we go shopping for a new one.

The main purpose was to check availability and prices. We didn’t really plan on making a purchase tonight. But we found what we were looking for, the price was right, it was available and we had a coupon. Delivery in a few days. In and out in less than 15 minutes. Good experience.

Or so we thought. As we were leaving, we were told about a survey we could complete online. The sales associate showed us the web address on our receipt and proceeded to tell us to rate her a 10. Really? You ask us to rate your service? No. You tell us to rate your service and have the guts spiel prepared to let us know exactly how it’s to be done.

Here’s a novel approach. Allow your guests to rate you based on the level of service they received. You may be in a contest or you may have goals to reach for the month. But don’t tell me that anything less than a 9 out of 10 gets you a zero on the survey.

If you want them to rate you a 10, deliver an 11.

Self righteous

I'm no Mother Teresa.
I’m no Mother Teresa.

Sanctimonious. Narcissistic. Holier-than-thou.

I have to admit I had to look these up to get their correct definitions.

And that’s because I’ve been accused of being self righteous twice in the last month. Taking the moral high ground is a tough choice when you are surrounded by evil. The power that drugs, alcohol and other addictions have over the mind and body clouds proper judgement even toward those you supposedly love.

I have faults. I do not claim to be perfect. I do not hold myself up to be the standard by which others are judged. That standard has already been established in Christ. Without him, we have no ability to attain true righteousness.

PS. The accusations leveled against me were from two individuals who were trying to defend their immoral actions. It’s sad because they do not understand the true meaning of love.

Hold me back

Even if the future is cloudy, you've got to face it.

Even if the future is cloudy, you’ve still got to face it.

No matter which direction you’re looking, you’re always facing forward.

Are we reluctant to face what lies ahead?

Is focusing on what you can’t do holding you back from what you can do?

How deep is the ocean

What time is the 3 o'clock parade?

What time is the 3 o’clock parade?

Do you get strange questions from your customers? From your employees?

Be prepared with the answer regardless of the question. Sometimes you have to read between the lines to know what’s really being asked.

And if I ever lost you

Choosing your cast wisely is one of the best decisions you can make for your business.

Choosing your cast wisely is one of the best decisions you can make for your business.

Do you track your customers spending habits? How can you get them back when they are gone? Are you in tune with them so well that you know when they haven’t shopped with you in a while?

In most cases, you offer a product or service that needs to be renewed or replenished. But if you’re seeing a downturn in business, do you have a system in place that let’s you know why you’re losing business?

It’s a known fact in most businesses that your most profitable customers are your long-term customers . . . customers for life, so to speak.

Always remember, and never forget, your customers buy from you – not companies. They want that personal connection that only you can give.

So, who are they connecting with? They are establishing a relationship with you and your team.

Treat your employees like you would treat your best customer and they will reward you with their loyalty. You won’t have to worry about losing them. . . the employee or the customer. 🙂
