“Pick up trash, make people happy, do your job”

Can it really be this simple?

My buddy Jeff Noel made a comment on Wednesday’s post on “Motivating the Unmotivateable.”

“Pick up trash, make people happy, do your job.”

So if you are leading by example and they are copying your lead, should you be looking for new employees if they are still under performing?  Maybe it’s time to rethink your example.

Like our kids, employees watch everything you do. If you are a manager, VP or CEO, the example you set can spell success or disaster.

    What a nice surprise.
I’ll have some surprises over the weekend too, but only at my Fan Page. 🙂

    David,

I read your blog. Usually I read each entry more than once as they have such insight, and make me smile and think a bit. I’m not out in the business world, but your thought provoking words are so applicable to life. This post “Set the example,” is so on the money. Lead by example. Thank you.

Wow. I am humbled by your comment. I’ll admit I don’t always set the right example.

I am glad they make you smile and think.

And you have done the same to me. Really made me smile! 🙂
